Dear Valued Consignors,

It is with a heavy heart that we must inform you that The Key will be closing its doors
permanently on July 31, 2024. This decision was not made lightly. The Key has been operating
at a loss for several years and the availability of volunteers has made it difficult to fully staff the
store. These factors were exacerbated by the pandemic. Despite our best efforts to adapt, the
changing landscape has made it unsustainable for us to continue operating.

As a valued consignor, we want to ensure that you are informed and provided with the necessary
steps to retrieve your items. We understand that you have entrusted us with your belongings, and
we want to facilitate a smooth transition during this challenging time.
Here are the details regarding item pickup:

Deadline for Pickup: We kindly request that you pick up your consigned items by June
22, 2024. After this date, any remaining items will be handled according to our closure
procedures, which may include donation to local charities or disposal.

Pickup Location and Hours: You can retrieve your items from The Key located at 66
Albany St. during regular business hours W-F 11:30-3:00. Please bring proper
identification for verification purposes.

Appointment Scheduling: To streamline the pickup process and ensure a convenient
experience for you, we encourage you to schedule an appointment by contacting The Key
at thekeycazenovia@gmail.com. This will help us manage the flow of consignors and
provide you with personalized assistance.

Alternative Arrangements: If you are unable to pick up your items personally, you may
authorize someone else to retrieve them on your behalf. Please inform us in advance and
provide written consent along with the representative's identification. Please ask your
representative to bring identification with them for verification purposes by our staff.

The Key is unable to close out your account prior to all consigned goods being either sold
or picked up by the consignor or their designee.

We cannot provide cash payouts. Final checks to settle accounts will be generated by St.
Peter’s and will be mailed to the consigner’s address within thirty days after the pickup
date.

We understand that this news may come as a disappointment, and we sincerely apologize for any
inconvenience it may cause. We are immensely grateful for your support and contribution to The
Key community over the years. Your consigned items have played a significant role in St. Peter’s
mission to serve our community, and for that, we are truly thankful.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding the closure or item pickup process, please do not
hesitate to reach out to us. We are here to assist you in any way we can.
We thank you for your understanding and support during this transition and look forward to
discovering new avenues to contribute to the well-being of our neighbors and community.

Warm regards,
The Wardens and Vestry of St. Peter’s Church
