THE KEY CONSIGNMENT SHOP in Cazenovia, NY is hiring!
We are seeking the Executive Director for The Key Consignment Shop in Cazenovia, New York. The Executive Director needs to be energetic, excellent with people, capable with numbers and creative. This is a part-time salaried position of approximately 20 hours per week reporting to the Rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Cazenovia, New York.
The Executive Director directs and participates in the day-to-day management of staff, volunteers, inventory, business operations, advertising, social media marketing, consignor relations, and more. The main responsibilities are to keep the store looking professional and orderly; attract new business; manage expenses, store budget and merchandise; provide excellent customer service and positive relationships with employees, interns, volunteers and consignors.
The Executive Director must be available to work when the store is open and other times as necessary. The successful candidate will enjoy working with people, have retail business acumen, will drive continual improvement, and will understand the importance of operating the store as a ministry of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church. The Key Consignment Shop serves the community in a way that generates revenue in order to provide grants to essential organizations such as Caz Cares, Vera House, Interfaith Works and others.

Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of The Key
Work closely with the Rector, Vestry, Treasurer, Sexton, and Parish Administrator of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church regarding the mission, needs, and success of The Key including providing regular reports and determining recipients of grants from The Key
Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and manage employees, volunteers and interns including terminations in consultation with the Rector
Interview and select volunteers, interns and employees in consultation with the Rector
Maintain a safe and enjoyable place for employees, volunteers, customers, consignors and interns
Maintain store communications including advertising, social media, the website, on-line sales, emails, and phone messages
Prepare the store for opening and ensure daily closing tasks are completed
Excellent customer service
Price, tag, stock, market, and manage merchandise including accepting and purging consignments and paying consignors
Maintain and ensure guidelines are met for inspecting and accepting consignments
Maintain sustainability efforts such as repurposing and recycling textiles
Create and implement loss prevention protocols
Maintain high standards for store appearance and displays
Evaluate store sales, prepare reports, develop and implement ways to increase sales and improve business Embody the values of The Key
Qualifications
1-3 years retail management experience or equivalent Excellent team building skills
Excellent people, customer service, and communication skills Computer and social media skillsResponsible, reliable, trustworthy, and organized
Experience with handling money and budgets
Detail and task oriented
Willingness to be flexible with work schedule
Previous sales and consignment store experience a strong plus BA preferred, but not required
